Location Description:

Kirkhope is an ancient parish in Selkirkshire. It was incorporated with the ancient parishes of Duchoire and St. Mary's to form the modern parish of Yarrow. (1867: The Imperial Gazetteer of Scotland, by John Marius Wilson).

There was an ancient chapel here. The parish was disjoined quoad omnia from Yarrow, 25 June 1851.
